I love esoteric things, nature and a dip in the sea mid winter

This cheeky kiwi loves to snowboard which makes winter worth it. Otherwise i would be paddle boarding all the time. I think the scenery in my tours is the best office!!!

Cheeky Simon an (almost) original guide since 2018. A love for NZ regional food and drink. Life mantra "Be yourself everyone else is already taken".

I love being out in nature, swimming, paddle boarding, adventuring with my mates. My personality is warm and bubbly and what makes me cheeky is my humour.

“No door is too big to open” I love showing our stunning country to our overseas visitors. I enjoy all sports and travelling.

They may not be in the spotlight, but our behind-the-scenes crew keeps every Cheeky Kiwi adventure running smoother than a freshly brewed flat white. From planning to logistics, they’re the quiet legends turning big dreams into effortless experiences.

As GM, Rhys keeps the Cheeky Kiwi wheels turning and occasionally reattaches them when things get bumpy. He loves getting out from behind the desk to meet guests and partners in person, proving that good business starts with good yarns. Outside work, he’s usually chasing fish, snow, or fresh air, ideally all in the same weekend.

General Manager

Heading up our Reservations Team, Kelly is the go-to for smooth travel plans and unforgettable experiences. A South African turned Wānaka local, she’s a well-travelled adventurer who loves capturing moments, mountain life, and the occasional 90’s hip hop verse (when no one’s watching).

Hobbit Trip

Our trip from Auckland to the Hobbiton Movie Set was seamless and so much fun. Trent, our driver, made the whole experience—he had our tickets ready at arrival, played great music, and shared fun stories about New Zealand along the way. The set itself feels like stepping into The Lord of the Rings—absolutely magical. Highly recommend!

Hobbitton tour experience

Grant was amazing. He took great care of us, including keeping us safe, great information about the region and the tour, and really wonderful local tips. He was fun and very attentive. I highly recommend it.

Great for “Lord of the Rings” Enthusiasts or Just for Fun

Cheeky Kiwi Travel certainly provided us a safe trip out to The Hobbiton movie set, by Nickey. This was an anticipated destination for my husband while we visited New Zealand. We very much enjoyed the countryside on our way to & back from the Hobbiton movie set, and the tour on site of the Alexander Farm was truly fun & enjoyed. It provided our first full day in Auckland with a lovely memory. If you’re looking for something a bit different… then take in this tour. The “Shire” is so cute and interesting!!!

Amazing, even on a stormy day

Amazing trip! Even on a very rainy day our tour guide filled us with positive energy. Our guide gave us an overview into everyday life in New Zealand and how our trip was going to look like. The tour at Hobbiton which was operated by the local Hobbiton guide was great! He told us about small secrets of hobbit holes and all kinds of different ways the area was utilised during filming. Had a complimentary drink at the Green Dragon and also due to construction work happening at the site we got ''compensated'' with an amazing Green Dragon steins. This was very kind of them. On the way back we got even closer to our original driver who offered us some cassava chips and told us more about the history and legends of the local people. Also got to stop to try the famous New Zealand ice cream and try the Hokey Pokey flavour. Overall the tour was a 10/10 and would definitely reccomend it to every Middle-Earth fans like us.

Highly recommend!

Worth every penny. Great tour guide (Martin), great food, spectacular views! Must do! Paying a little extra for a small group tour was so worth it. We got to make more stops and didn’t have to wait in lines like the big bus tours. 10/10

Great day at Milford Sound

We took this tour with Danny and everything exceeded our expectations. Danny was so organized, knowledgeable and personable that he made our day fun and stress-free. He kept us informed of plans along the way, provided us with lunch that fit our special dietary needs, provided both educational and funny commentary, and shared his enthusiasm for New Zealand with us. He made sure that we were on schedule without ever feeling rushed. Milford Sound is a must see and this tour made it even better.

Fun day trip to Milford Sound, Thanks to our amazing guide Hannah!

A fantastic day trip as a solo traveller! The small-boat cruise made the experience feel intimate and personal, and we got to take in Milford Sound without feeling like just another tourist group. The lunch box was also such a thoughtful touch. Hannah was a fantastic guide—warm, knowledgeable, and full of interesting stories about New Zealand. Would definitely recommend this trip!

Andy was lovely throughout the whole 13 hours of the ride. Knowledgeable and entertaining and took really good care of us. Visited beautiful stops along the way to Milford Sounds. Highly recommend Cheeky Kiwi!

Girls road trip to Milford Sound

We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Milford Sound. We chose the option of a smaller bus and smaller group of 13 (max 14.) Our tour guide Nicky was engaging and extremely knowledgeable of the history and geography of the region. The long trip was broken up by everal stops and photo opportunities. The trip included a delicious packed lunch, snacks and water. We can highly recommend this tour.

Look no further than Cheeky Kiwi!

This was easily the best trip I’ve done in New Zealand! Our driver Danny was absolutely superb- from start to finish, he made sure we’re well looked after: 1). Prompt pick up and drop off 2). Snacks, lunch and water provided 3). The best playlist ever 4). Looked after his group very well, even when we needed to stop because I felt sick 5). Comfortable and clean vehicle If you’re thinking of booking a tour, look no further than Cheeky Kiwi!

Highly recommended!

Our Milford Sound tour was absolutely incredible, largely thanks to our wonderful driver, Benny. The journey was smooth, and the helicopter ride back to Queenstown was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience. I even spoke with an American family on the same tour, and we all agreed that this day was the absolute highlight of our entire trip to New Zealand. I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting, and I will definitely be back!

Fantastic way to experience Milford Sound

Absolutely fantastic experience from start to finish. The small-group format made the trip feel much more personal and relaxed, and everything was very well organised. The journey from Queenstown is long, but the spectacular scenery along the way makes it part of the experience rather than simply a transfer. Our guide, Danny, was friendly, knowledgeable about NZ and it's ecosystem, engaging and sharing interesting LOTR fun facts throughout the day while still giving us plenty of time to enjoy the surroundings. Milford Sound itself was breathtaking, and the cruise was definitely the highlight. Incredible landscapes, waterfalls and dramatic mountain scenery that really have to be seen in person. A long day, but completely worth it. I would highly recommend Cheeky Kiwi Travel and this tour in particular to anyone visiting Queenstown who wants to experience Milford Sound without having to worry about driving or organising everything themselves.

10/10 experience

Our trip to Milford Sound was absolutely amazing! Danny, our driver, was incredibly hospitable and made sure everyone was comfortable throughout the journey. He had an excellent playlist, took us to some fantastic spots along the way, and made the entire experience enjoyable and memorable. The timing was excellent, and everything was very well organised from start to finish. Highly recommend this trip, especially with Danny as your driver!
