A Truly Unforgettable Experience with Cheeky Kiwi and Matt

First and foremost, a heartfelt thank you to Matt and the entire Cheeky Kiwi team for such an incredible experience! 💗 From the very moment my booking was confirmed, everything felt effortless and well taken care of. The team stayed in touch throughout, sending timely reminders for pickup and even checking in to confirm details like our contact number to ensure everything would run smoothly on the day. That level of organisation and care immediately gave us confidence that we were in good hands. On the day of the tour, Matt arrived right on time and set the tone for what turned out to be an absolutely fantastic journey. From start to finish, everything flowed seamlessly under his guidance. What really made the experience special was how much knowledge and passion he shared along the way. He didn’t just focus on the main attractions like Hobbiton and the Glowworm Cave. He brought the whole journey to life with fascinating insights about Auckland and New Zealand in general, making even the drive feel meaningful and engaging. Matt also had a real talent for making the experience extra comfortable for everyone. He gave us thoughtful tips, like the best seats for the most scenic views, which made a noticeable difference in how much we enjoyed the trip. One of the most impressive touches was how he organised our lunch in advance like taking our orders early so the café could prepare everything ahead of time. It might seem like a small detail, but it made everything so smooth and stress-free when we arrived. Beyond being organised and knowledgeable, Matt was genuinely one of the friendliest and most attentive guides we’ve ever met. He made a point to check in with every passenger throughout the day, always making sure everyone was comfortable, safe, and enjoying themselves. You could really tell he cared, not just about the schedule, but about the people on the tour. His warmth and easygoing nature made the whole group feel relaxed and connected. There were also some lovely unexpected highlights that made the day even more special. On the way, Matt stopped at a charming ice cream shop in Pukeno and even recommended a flavour for us to try. We went with his suggestion and it did not disappoint! It was such a simple moment, but it added a fun and personal touch to the journey. By the end of the trip, we honestly didn’t want it to end. It was one of those rare experiences where everything just comes together perfectly ,the places, the people, and the guide who ties it all together. A huge shout-out to Matt, the Cheeky Kiwi team, and everyone behind the scenes who made this experience so seamless and memorable. We would absolutely travel with Cheeky Kiwi again in a heartbeat, and if we’re lucky enough, we’d love to have Matt as our guide once more. I will surely give big shoutout to my friends and family as well! Enlightment about New Zealand History and Tours

Our guide Hanoz was amazing! He made my experience extremely memorable and he was very knowledgeable about NZ and the places we were traveling to. I would definitely recommend this to people I know if all tour guides were like Hanoz.

Fantastic experience

What an amazing experience! Everything that I expected and much more! Our guide Liam was very knowledgeable and told so many wonderful facts and stories all throughout the journey, now I know so much more about New Zealand. There was a lovely and friendly atmosphere and lots of fun

Excellent guide, wonderful experience

Obviously Hobbiton was charming and the glow worm caves were fantastic, but you can book that with many tour operators. What you won’t necessarily get is the guide. Liam was extremely knowledgeable and determined to make us better understand Maori culture and history. Somehow he managed to do all of that and still keep us on schedule with a mandatory ice cream stop.

Well worth the travel from Auckland!

This was a well-planned and fun experience. Our tour guide Simon was funny, nice, and knowledgeable. The Hobbiton movie set tour was detailed and well worth the travel from Auckland. Simon took us on roads less traveled so we could see lovely countryside. The glow worm cave tour was brief but interesting; the boat ride was clearly the best part. We also had a fabulous lunch included and stopped a few times for coffee and ice cream. Although it was a long day, it really didn't feel that way and we had good conversation, some laughs, and a great time overall.

Highly recommend!

Worth every penny. Great tour guide (Martin), great food, spectacular views! Must do! Paying a little extra for a small group tour was so worth it. We got to make more stops and didn’t have to wait in lines like the big bus tours. 10/10

Great day at Milford Sound

We took this tour with Danny and everything exceeded our expectations. Danny was so organized, knowledgeable and personable that he made our day fun and stress-free. He kept us informed of plans along the way, provided us with lunch that fit our special dietary needs, provided both educational and funny commentary, and shared his enthusiasm for New Zealand with us. He made sure that we were on schedule without ever feeling rushed. Milford Sound is a must see and this tour made it even better.

Fun day trip to Milford Sound, Thanks to our amazing guide Hannah!

A fantastic day trip as a solo traveller! The small-boat cruise made the experience feel intimate and personal, and we got to take in Milford Sound without feeling like just another tourist group. The lunch box was also such a thoughtful touch. Hannah was a fantastic guide—warm, knowledgeable, and full of interesting stories about New Zealand. Would definitely recommend this trip!

Andy was lovely throughout the whole 13 hours of the ride. Knowledgeable and entertaining and took really good care of us. Visited beautiful stops along the way to Milford Sounds. Highly recommend Cheeky Kiwi!

Girls road trip to Milford Sound

We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Milford Sound. We chose the option of a smaller bus and smaller group of 13 (max 14.) Our tour guide Nicky was engaging and extremely knowledgeable of the history and geography of the region. The long trip was broken up by everal stops and photo opportunities. The trip included a delicious packed lunch, snacks and water. We can highly recommend this tour.

Look no further than Cheeky Kiwi!

This was easily the best trip I’ve done in New Zealand! Our driver Danny was absolutely superb- from start to finish, he made sure we’re well looked after: 1). Prompt pick up and drop off 2). Snacks, lunch and water provided 3). The best playlist ever 4). Looked after his group very well, even when we needed to stop because I felt sick 5). Highly recommended!

Our Milford Sound tour was absolutely incredible, largely thanks to our wonderful driver, Benny. The journey was smooth, and the helicopter ride back to Queenstown was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience. I even spoke with an American family on the same tour, and we all agreed that this day was the absolute highlight of our entire trip to New Zealand. I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting, and I will definitely be back!

Fantastic way to experience Milford Sound

Absolutely fantastic experience from start to finish. The small-group format made the trip feel much more personal and relaxed, and everything was very well organised. The journey from Queenstown is long, but the spectacular scenery along the way makes it part of the experience rather than simply a transfer. Our guide, Danny, was friendly, knowledgeable about NZ and it's ecosystem, engaging and sharing interesting LOTR fun facts throughout the day while still giving us plenty of time to enjoy the surroundings. Milford Sound itself was breathtaking, and the cruise was definitely the highlight. Incredible landscapes, waterfalls and dramatic mountain scenery that really have to be seen in person. A long day, but completely worth it. I would highly recommend Cheeky Kiwi Travel and this tour in particular to anyone visiting Queenstown who wants to experience Milford Sound without having to worry about driving or organising everything themselves.

10/10 experience

Our trip to Milford Sound was absolutely amazing! Danny, our driver, was incredibly hospitable and made sure everyone was comfortable throughout the journey. He had an excellent playlist, took us to some fantastic spots along the way, and made the entire experience enjoyable and memorable. The timing was excellent, and everything was very well organised from start to finish. Highly recommend this trip, especially with Danny as your driver!
